ORISON’s 2013 Rowan is a nuanced blend of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Alicante Bouschet. A wine of pure texture and power, the 2012 captures the character of a warm Portuguese vintage. Notes of raspberry, black pepper, and anise unfold in the glass. The wine was aged in French oak for 16 months and will mature gracefully for the next 8 to 15 years.
The ORISON wine project, started in 2012 by Daniel and Filipa Orrison with the help of winemaking partner Ricardo Carvalho, embodies three young winemakers’ desire to bring the beauty and spirit of Portugal to the United States through wine.
Rooted in friendships forged in the treasured experiences of world travel on a modest budget, the brand’s mission is to produce wine of unique origin and abundant value under the belief that authenticity and balance are paramount, in wine as in life.
We bring you ORISON wines from the imaginations of a few traveling winemakers hoping to realize the power of youth, love, and passion for a craft.
