Classes and Events

Bring a good attitude and an open mind. We love to educate, and our instructors’ backgrounds include advanced degrees in wine education and cellar stints at some of the world’s most respected wineries. What you give is what you get, and we encourage you to come prepared for a wine adventure!
Seating is first come, first served. To ensure that your group can sit together, please arrive five to 10 minutes before class starts.
All classes last one and a half to two hours.
Absolutely. No matter the class, we will always have an option for those with dietary restrictions. If you have severe allergies, please speak to the chef and the staff before the class begins, and we will do our best to accommodate you (whenever possible).
Light antipasti are served with wine classes. The specific dishes rotate based on seasonal selections and our chef’s personality. At least six wines will be served.
We suggest you arrive hungry! Two to three courses are served with all food classes, and guests are regularly satisfied with both quality and portion size. At these classes, at least five wines will be served.
You can change or cancel your class reservations up to 48 hours in advance. No credit will be issued if you make changes less than 48 hours before the start of your class (sorry, no exceptions). However, you are free to transfer your space to a friend, a family member, or a colleague. Simply email us with your transfer request, and we’ll welcome your guests with open arms!
Yes, all wines tasted will be available for sale. Discounts of 10 percent are offered on all case purchases.

Orders and Shipping

New York Vintners offers four shipping options:
  • UPS Ground (about 2–5 business days in transit)
  • UPS 2nd Day Air (2 business days in transit)
  • UPS Next Day Air (1 business day in transit)
  • Local delivery (New York City’s five boroughs and Westchester County only)
The shipping costs on this website are estimated. Actual costs will be confirmed with you when your order is processed; costs are based solely on weight and destination. In addition, a handling fee is charged to cover shipping materials.
Orders placed before 5 p.m. Eastern time Monday through Friday will be processed within 48 hours unless weather conditions make shipping unadvisable (See “Terms of Service” below).
If you would like to request the original wood cases, please note this in the “Special Instructions” during ordering. New York Vintners will accommodate your request based on availability. There is an additional shipping charge of $10 for each wood case; it will be applied manually to your order once it is processed.
If your order is time-sensitive or has a specific shipment date, please note such information in the “Special Instructions” during ordering. New York Vintners will make every attempt to accommodate special shipping requests.
If your shipment contains damaged merchandise, please inform New York Vintners of the situation within two days of delivery. A call tag will be issued to pick up the damaged merchandise. A new shipment will be sent once the merchandise is returned to New York Vintners.
That being said, please understand that upon your purchase from New York Vintners, the responsibility for those products changed hands to a third-party carrier. New York Vintners is not responsible for the delivery of damaged goods by a third-party carrier.
In addition, New York Vintners does not make any kind of representation as to the legal rights of anyone shipping or importing wine outside the state of New York. Buyers are solely responsible for the shipment of alcoholic beverage products in accordance with the laws of the state where the order is being shipped.
To legally purchase alcohol, you must be at least 21 years old. By submitting your order to New York Vintners, you have represented that you are at least age 21. All wine shipments and deliveries, including shipments outside of the United States, must be received by an adult of legal drinking age.

Deliveries

Same-day delivery at courier rates is available in Manhattan on orders placed before 4:30 p.m. Eastern time. An adult of legal drinking age must be present to receive and sign for any delivery from New York Vintners. Please be sure to include the apartment or suite number when you place your order. If you have special instructions for delivery (for example: the buzzer is broken, call upon arrival, etc.), please note them in the “Special Instructions” during ordering. Case Discount

New York Vintners offers a 10 percent discount on solid cases. Please be advised that not all of our wine selection is available for case discounts.

Futures and Pre-Arrivals

You will be charged for futures and pre-arrival wines when they are ordered, after which a confirmation will be sent to you. Canceled futures and pre-arrivals orders are subject to a 20 percent cancellation fee. New York Vintners will contact you when your order is ready for shipment. At times, New York Vintners may source the same wine from several different sources; as a result, we may deliver your order in stages.

Privacy Policy

We do everything we can to protect our customers’ privacy. New York Vintners does not sell or exchange personally identifiable information with any third parties.
Customers who enter their email addresses on our website (for example, when signing up for classes) will receive email alerts and newsletters about New York Vintners news, products, and events.
Although we do not currently anticipate doing so, in the future we may use customer information for new uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. Changes to our privacy policy will be posted on this website. The posts explaining the changes in the policy also will provide you with the ability to opt out of any new uses of your information.

Terms of Service

Unfortunately, many states have restrictions on shipping wine. New York Vintners sincerely apologizes if we are not able to ship to your area. If this is the case, please consider joining our ongoing push for nationwide direct shipping of wine by contacting your state legislators or local government and letting them know that you support direct shipping. Please keep in mind that wine is sensitive to environmental factors. To protect our wines from heat and frost damage, New York Vintners will not ship merchandise via UPS Ground or UPS 2nd Day Air service to areas experiencing extreme temperatures, either high (at or above 85 F) or low (at or below 32 F). Always feel free to call us at 212-812-3999 to discuss your shipping options.
All wine sales to consumers made by New York Vintners are f.o.b. New York. The title to the purchased wine is transferred to the consumer from New York Vintners once the purchase price has been completely debited from the consumer’s credit card or paid by other appropriate means. Please be advised that laws governing the sale and shipment of alcoholic beverages vary from state to state. New York Vintners makes no representation as to the legal rights of any individual or entity to ship or transport wines into any state outside of New York. As expressly noted above, you (as the consumer) are solely responsible for taking possession of all wines that you purchase from New York Vintners.
