Braida
The Braida story thereby began in 1961 when Giacomo harvested his first Barbera grapes from these vineyards.  From the start, Giacomo had a vision and drive to take the varietal of Barbera and make some of the most beautiful wines in the world. Over time he discovered that Barbera, when put into oak barrels, had the potential to age brilliantly. In the 1980s, Bologna created three distinct cru Barbera wines: Bricco dell'Ucellone, Bricco della Bigota, and Ai Suma.

Today, Giacomo's children, Raffaella and Guiseppe, have been carefully expanded the faithful image of the family philosophy; understanding life, the earth, wine and friendship.

Pelissero
The estate is located in the heart of the Barbaresco area, in the commune of Treiso. Treiso is blessed with the highest altitude vineyards in Barbaresco which typically renders very cool nights, warm days and a frequent stream of gentle winds that make optimum conditions for Nebbiolo.

Pelissero's wines are not shy. They are typically full of energy and heart and harness a duality between old and new world, and feminine and masculine. Round and a bit rich is the hallmark of their house style today, built for age, yet triumphant in their power and finesse in their youth.

Today, the third generation of Pelissero men, Giorgio oversees every aspect in the production of the estates' wines which have been moving swiftly to find themselves now amongst the most elite wines of the genre.
