Some of the most age worthy and intensely flavored Cabernet Sauvignons have come from Araujo's Eisele Vineyard, located on an alluvial fan near the northern end of the Napa Valley. The ideal climate is provided by the Palisades Mountains to the north and the Chalk Hill Gap to the south. The cobbly soils of this 38 acre vineyard produce a low yielding crop of exceptionally concentrated fruit. The wines produced have outspoken character with specifically defined flavors and fine textures, deep concentration without any sense of heaviness. Originally planted in the 1880's to Zinfandel and Riesling, it has been under vine constantly since then. Cabernet was original planted in 1964.
