Didier Dagueneau is often considered the best producer in Pouilly-Fumé, and one of the premier producers of Sauvignon Blanc wines in the world. Dagueneau cultivates approximately 11.5 hectares of vines in the small village of Saint-Andelain. He is one of the most ardent crusaders for low-yields, hand-harvesting, and biodynamics. Dagueneau, most notably, produces three distinct Sauvignon Blanc wines: the single-vineyard Buisson Renard; the barrel-fermented and aged, highly structured "Silex;" and the creamier, less mineral-driven "Pur Sang."
